Pineleaf Penstemon
Perennials
Pineleaf Penstemon
This long-lived western native has fresh green needlelike foliage in a dense tussock. Plants bloom for many weeks in summer; hummingbirds relish the nectar. The typical orange-red-flowered form takes on burgundy foliage hues in winter. Soft yellow selections have lighter green leaves all year. Blends of red and yellow can be found on the same plant such as 'Shades of Mango.'
