This spirea is an upright, compact deciduous shrub with a bushy habit. Sharply toothed leaves are deep green on top, grayish-green below, lance-shaped, persistent into fall and almost evergreen in warmer climates of the south. In summer, showy, dark crimson flowers are showcased on upright, rounded corymbs. Prefer full sun and well drained soil.
