Fairly compact and cold tolerant, Agave parryi is an evergreen, perennial succulent forming tight rosettes of broad, short, thick, silvery-blue leaves with conspicuous reddish-brown teeth and terminal spines. The flower very infrequently and only at maturity. When they do flower, the magnificent blossom is atop a spike reaching 15 feet tall.
